New Zealand inspired watercolour art prints by Matt Coates

Matt Coates, an Auckland Artist draws his inspiration from his surroundings, native bush and local beaches to create art that is creative, unique and makes you smile.

Currently, Matt is working on a collection of artworks of bringing old NZ coins to life with colour and character – ‘The NZ Treasures Series’, and a series of vintage NZ stamps on a bigger scale ‘Larger than Life’. I have always liked old NZ stamps and coins and the detail in them, they are little works of art. I thought it would be great to see these coins and old stamps brought to life with scale, colour and character.
